Everything Is Illuminated follows a boy by the name of Jonathan who is on the hunt for the woman who saved his grandfather during a Nazi raid. His clues lead him to Ukraine, where he befriends two unlikey people who agree to help him on his journey. As they travel and discover new things, not everything becomes illuminated for Jonathan. For my book cover, I was inspired by the mystery of the story. The bars reveal a picture, which is meant to be a portrait of the grandfater. Through the reveal, a single eye can be seen, which further emphasizes the mystery to Jonathans questions and adventures in this book.
